Sundance Neighbors & Friends
Our Neighbors
& Friends in Sundance Mesa are many. Some are native to the area, some are not, some of our friends serve as helpers,
some create beautiful things.

The Critters of Sundance MesaTo live in the desert, certian species have developed specific physical characteristics
and behaviors appropriate to the environment. In particular, most are able to conserve water while some avoid activity during
the heat of the day. Some even aestivate (i.e. spend the summer and dry months in a state of torpor).

Our Water Cooperative
The La Mesa Water Cooperative was established to supply water
to both Sundance Mesa and its neighbor La Mesa. The Coop regularly sends newsletters to its members to keep them informed
about important issues. Since water here in the desert is a critical commodity, use water responsibly to avoid
increases in monthly bills by checking for leaks. Periodically turn off all water in the house and check the reading
on the water meter canister at the beginning and end of a period of time. If the meter reading has changed, there is
a leak somewhere that needs to be dealt with promptly. Visit the La Mesa Water Cooperative
website for more information and contacts.
